Happy Mother's Day!

We’re just a week away from your final project. You’re going to work with two other people to write a newspaper about Tom Robinson’s trial using Microsoft Publisher. Now I know what you’re thinking. “Mr. Womack, I don’t know how to use Microsoft Publisher!” Never fear! Today’s assignment will walk you through a short lesson that will explain all you need to know about the program.

Since Mother’s Day is just two days away, today you will create a Mother’s Day card using Microsoft Publisher. There are two reasons for this card. One, I know some of you didn’t get your moms anything for Mother’s Day. And two, you’ll know how to use the basics of Microsoft Publisher better and you’ll be ready to make a newspaper.

This card should be for anyone in your life that is like a mother to you. This is anyone who loves you, worries about you, and that you love. This person could be your mom, your grandma, an aunt, maybe even a friend’s mom who is just awesome! It’s up to you.

Now here is what you need to do:

1. Click on one of the links below to find some quotes about mothers. You can use one of these quotes if you want to make the card more personal.

2. Listen to the directions carefully. We’re going to go over the basics in class and I’ll give the directions out loud. Make sure you’re paying close attention.

3. Make sure you personalize all pages. There is even a place for your name on the back page.

4. Have fun. That’s what this assignment is really about.
